“You can pretty much cheat because you can sin all your life then on your death-bed, you can ask God to forgive you and you’ll go to Heaven”
A guy in my class said that today and urm, while it’s true that people give their lives to God at the very end of it, and I know a lady from my family church whose father didn’t acknowledge God until He was 102 years old but is that the really the point of salvation? I don’t think so. The whole point of life on earth is God, and the same can be said of Heaven. God is everything. He is the beginning and the end and without Him, things don’t have purpose, they don’t have meaning. I love my life on earth because God is with me, and I look forward to Heaven because I will get to see Him face to face, and I will spend eternity with Him. The reason I don’t wanna go to hell because He wouldn’t be there, I wouldn’t have His comfort, I wouldn’t have His reassurance. I don’t say any more, “when I die, I wanna go to Heaven”, I say that I want to be with Him because that’s the whole, when Jesus said He goes to prepare a place for us, it’s not about mansions and streets made of gold, that isn’t really what matters to me. I want my Father, with His arms wide open, and I want to see Him smile at me on that day and I want to look at Him knowing that isn’t just an introduction for us, but in fact, my God and I have been close all along. I think that we Christians give people such a poor idea of who God is sometimes that they’re missing the fact that the best part of Heaven is God Himself, this amazing being full of love and wonder, and I pray that all of us, in our daily lives will make people have a longing for the God that we represent. Because He is what life is all about. He’s everything.
