I’ve been praying this prayer, “order my footsteps, direct my paths, I will not go where You do not lead, outside of your will, there’s nothing I want and in your will, there’s nothing I fear”. God has been so good, and He is so willing to lead us, I’ve been doing some work with Amnesty International and I just got called back for an interview with Reprieve (another human rights organsation) and I am so in awe of our God. He has really used my gap year to display His faithfulness in my life. I love this God of ours. He blows my mind all the time.

My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
I think it’s pretty easy to forget that there is a reason that we’re not just sent straight to heaven after we get saved. We’re a part of God’s plan, the church is God’s action plan for this world. When we pray, we actively partner with God in carrying out His agenda, His will on earth. When we love, we partner with God, when we give sacrificially for the good of others, we do that too, when we tell people about Jesus and allow our lives to show His character, we’re actively carrying out our Father’s will. When we seek justice and love mercy, we’re actively doing our Father’s work. So don’t ever let the enemy trick you into thinking that your life on earth is only about receiving from God and being a spectator. You are not isolated from God’s plan for humanity, you are a part of it.
Joy is not found in seeking your own pleasure.
Joy is not found in another human being.
Joy is walking with God and living your life in total surrender to Him.
Joy is harmony with God.
Joy is saying yes to the age-old command of “take up your cross, and follow me”.
Let all that I am praise the Lord ; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord ; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel.
The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever.
He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die.
The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.
Praise the Lord , you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. Yes, praise the Lord , you armies of angels who serve him and do his will!
Praise the Lord , everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the Lord . (Psalms 103:1-22 NLT)
Through my time in the word, through music that I’m hearing, through sermons I’ve been listening to and through conversations I’ve been having. It’s kind of amazing. I love Him so much.
I don’t wanna be one of those Christians who looks at the life of someone who’s far away from God and only says, “oh look at that filthy sinner!”, I wanna be able to say, “oh look at filthy me!”, we’re all messed up, all have fallen short, I wanna look at the miracle that God has made out of my mess and through that, remember how He loved (and continues to love me) and love people in the same way.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us - Romans 5:8 (NIV)
