Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity - 1 Timothy 4:12
Sometimes, I feel like being a young person is synonymous with the idea of being selfish, of being self-absorbed, you know, it’s kinda sad but I feel like sometimes, society doesn’t expect a whole lot from us. You know, they see us as having earphones in 24/7, texting 24/7, just going about and not caring a whole lot about the big picture. There’s so many negative connotations with youth and I feel like, when we’re a part of God’s kingdom and we’re young, we’re called to challenge that. And so God has just been encouraging to stop being so me-centred and sometimes we’re “me-centred” in seemingly productive ways. You know, I’m pretty much swallowed whole by college commitments and it’s great, having a bright future and working hard and being responsible but we miss so much. Friends that need love, people who need encouragement, and there are just so many broken areas in our world and it’d be such a shame for us to miss us all this. So, as God’s kids, we should cause people to think of positive things when they think of youth. We should be an example to other believers. God does not care about age; He used Samuel, David was anointed as King over Israel when he was just a boy, Daniel was a young man who set an example in Babylon. You might be young but God has some amazing plans for your life and if you’ll just let Him, He will do some amazing things through you.
Yes, yes, yes. This
