My birth certificate says I was born on May 17th 1994. However, I believe I was born in early September in 2008. I don’t know what the salvation experience is like for everyone, but I’ll tell you what it was like for me. These words, “Jesus come into my heart” changed my life in the most radical, the most evident way. Water baptism is such a good representation of what happens to a believer when they first decide to let Jesus in. I remember the day when I got baptised and with my arms crossed over my chest, I was asked, “Do you love Jesus?” and I replied: “More than my life.” And as I said that, I got pretty emotional because in truth, it felt a little bit like a wedding, I felt like I was saying my wedding vows, and that’s the best way in which I can describe who He is to me. So much more than a Friend, even more than a Father, my heart is married to His - I shudder with fear when I imagine a life without Him and I feel most alive when I am singing praises to Him. I smile to myself like a fool when I say the phrase, “He is jealous for me” - I am like a harlot who married the most wonderful man in the world, who can’t quite believe her luck. He is so beautiful, and I hope that through my blog, you get to feel what I feel when I am His presence, that in encountering just a small portion of His presence and glory, that you would be changed and that you’d take away something useful to give you strength and grace in your day.
